Subject: Very Funny
Very enjoyable mixture between murder mystery and comedy with snappy dialogues. Well worth watching. Especially the Frankie Darro/Mantan Moreland team which did several films together. Mantan is great. he has many fans on this site and I am one of them.

Subject: A Fun Watch
Like Chasing Trouble, this stars Frankie Darro, Marjorie Reynolds, and Mantan Moreland. Here they work at a radio station, and are involved in a murder mystery. Darro isn't stuck trying to imitate Mickey Rooney, and Moreland and Reynolds have much better parts. Comedy and drama are nicely balanced. It's well-paced fun. Unlike the copies of Chasing Trouble here at IA, the file for this movie is complete.

Reynolds sings 3 songs, and she's not bad at all. Who knows, maybe this led to her role in Holiday Inn. In one scene, Moreland and Darro do a version of the stand-up routine Moreland and Ben Carter used to do, which can be seen in two Charlie Chan movies: The Scarlett Clue and Dark Alibi. Unfortunately, Darro is in blackface makeup for the routine - excusable in a 1940 film, but egregious for a radio audition scene.

I downloaded the 699MB AVI file. The video quality is good; audio quality is fine.

Subject: Mantan soft-shoes it!
Mantan Moreland and Frankie Darro are involved in another murder mystery. This time It's at a Hollywood radio station, and Marjorie Reynolds is along for the ride. Darro is a little less frenetic than usual, and Moreland is in top form. His impromptu dance in the station's locker room steals the show. The mystery doesn’t amount to much, but who cares. Apparently audiences at the time didn't. The boys were cast together in at least six of these formula yarns. The print is complete and in better than average shape.
